Can you make yourself Happy?
Did you know you can actually force yourself to be happy and feel better by doing just a few little things to fool the mind into believing happiness is present?
Well you can!
I know sometimes people can struggle in every day life, especially now with the state of the world.
We can actually use these few tips and tricks to fool our brain into being a happier place to be, now please don't come for me and tell me its impossible to cure depression I know I cant, I cant magically heal a chemical imbalance in the body to make depression go away but what I can do is give you a few tips to help your day go a little easier.
Can you use colour to make you happy?
You absolutely can use colours to release the happy hormone in the brain called Serotonin, the use of Yellow helps to induce the happy hormone, buy yourself some sunflowers, wear that yellow t-shirt, paint your nails yellow, get outside and sun gaze (obviously before the height of noon, ideally sungazing is sunrise and sunset) plant yellow flowers in the garden encourage those bees and butterflies to come around.
Visit a sunflower field, honestly its one of the most peaceful experiences you will enjoy, find a quiet spot and just sit a while surrounded by big pretty yellow flowers.
There is a reason hospitals have flower vendors outside selling those yellow roses and tulips, it is very well known that just being around yellow helps us to feel better thanks to that serotonin being released in to our bodies.
Put that Music on.
Todays world is a mess and it weighs heavy, for me I turn off the T.V, I actually do not watch T.V at all now, no new's, No bullshit T.V shows full of drama and sadness, No reality T.V of people arguing and fighting, nothing, I will watch my comedy shows though, things I choose to watch for myself, I personally love happy funny silly things, Mrs Brown's Boy's, Only Fool's and Horse's, Vicar Of Dibley, anything that is not and can not be taken serious, I enjoy watching cooking shows, master chef (i love getting ideas from it) but gone are the days I would turn on the telly to watch Eastenders to see secret affairs between neighbours and heartbreak, and when I'm not watching a show I always have music on.
What music? well this is where some people may think wooooo fruitloop but I don't listen to modern stuff, one it all sounds the same to me, I don't like it I don't like the modern music because a lot of it has certain soundwaves hidden in there that actually have been proven to effect our mental state, I wont go into detail but yes it has been scientifically proven certain tones/vibrations can actually effect us emotionally and a lot of modern music now have those sound waves in the back ground, ever put a song on and all of a sudden your flooded with emotion and begin to cry for no apparent reason?
I love all kinds of music, I can listen to rock music, soul music, folk, indie, my fave is Country music and bands like Mumford and sons, Stevie Knicks, The Chicks and The Cannon's are all top of my list, I also love to find new and unfamous artists, there is so much talent out there that deserves recognition and support instead of throwing hundreds of £££ at a ticket for Beyonce find some unfamous artists they are amazing and a lot more humble of your support trust me.
Turn Adelle off and try The chicks, you will thank me later, some music just is an instant 'downer' I'm sorry nothing against Adelle her voice is amazing but do we really need to listen to tragic love stories, her songs are like instant depression to me but hey if she is your thing play it, if her songs make you happy play them, what I'm trying to say is, take note of how you feel when playing music, it has a big effect on us and can make or break our day.
Turn off the news!
Already touched up on this above but honestly, this is so important. Turn off that news, the world is so heavy and is in such a big mess already we don't need to hear about more doom and gloom,
I like to keep up to date but I refuse to take in and sit in the low vibrational energy that we are receiving from news reports, and that's if you can believe them anyway! A lot of it is fake news just to keep us so low, pay attention to what you take in because it can be the key to feeling happy or feeling low, anyone says to me now "did you see the news last night" I reply with "no and I'm not interested" because I'm honestly not and want to hear nothing of murders wild fires or immigration control,
Turn those clocks off
I know this is crazy and I am lucky in so far as I can work at home so it will be easier for me but when you have a day off ignore those clocks!
Time is not important to me any more, I eat when I'm hungry I wash clothes when they are dirty and I sleep when I'm tired. I stopped living my life by time and started enjoying my time here!
Who told me that breakfast was by 9am and if I had breakfast at half past I was 30 minutes late?
Who told me that on Wednesday it is washing day and if you don't do it then you will be late? who told me that by having a schedule it will make life easier? No my life became simple happier and easier to manage when I stopped looking at a clock and panicking that I was now 5 minutes late out the door which means il be late for this and that will knock on the rest of the day, No if someone tells me I'm late... I'm late to your time schedule, I am where I am meant to be according to me sweetheart!
Stop eating processed food.
Eat wholesome un messed with foods, I'm not saying never eat crisps again or don't touch chocolate I'm just saying have it in moderation. Make actual healthy food a priority,
pick up the watermelon instead of the biscuits first, yeah have a biscuit with a cup of tea I'm not saying don't but prioritise you health first because when you are healthy you feel healthy and that makes you feel good, when your body is running well so is the mind.
So can you make yourself Happy?
Well its worth the try right? what do you have to loose?
From a happy girl today who ate her fruit who has sat and watched the butterflies sitting on her flowers in the garden, has not turned on the T.V at all today and has listened only to music and also has forgotten all time.
